As part of the University's mission to improve safety on campus, the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) is launching Rave Guardian, a free mobile safety app designed to help faculty, staff, students and guests stay connected and access important campus safety resources. The app is available for use by all Rutgers University students, faculty, staff, and guests who are subscribed to the university’s Emergency Notification System (ENS).

The app is replacing the current Text-to-RUPD service so all messages sent to 69050 will no longer reach the Rutgers Police Department.

THRIVE Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program designed to empower undergraduate students to persist through college, maintain good academic standing, and graduate on time. THRIVE SSS supports low-income, first-generation and/or students with disabilities students successfully begin and stay in college. THRIVE SSS provides opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The goal of THRIVE SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants. THRIVE SSS Scholars receive academic tutoring; advice and assistance in postsecondary course selection; information on both the full range of student financial aid programs, benefits and resources for locating public and private scholarships; and assistance in completing financial aid applications. Education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy and assist in applying for admission to graduate and professional programs. individualized counseling for personal, career, and academic information, activities, and instruction designed to acquaint career options; exposure to cultural events and academic programs; mentoring programs and Student Success Award. These services are exclusive for students who meet the eligibility requirement to be part of THRIVE SSS in New Brunswick.

TOPxRutgers is the interdisciplinary student team representing Rutgers University-New Brunswick in the yearly TOP University Design Sprint. The Opportunity Project (TOP) brings technologists, government, and communities to rapidly prototype digital products—powered by federal open data—that solve real-world problems for communities across the country.

Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including illness, injury, and mental health conditions. This coverage expands the scope of our refund policy by ensuring reimbursement for tuition, room and board, and other fees for covered withdrawals at any time during the semester. Plans also include Student Life Assistance: a 24-hour emergency hotline for students and parents.

The Learning Centers offer drop-in group tutoring and weekly study groups. Both services offer face-to-face and online options and are available for free to Rutgers students. Study groups are available for a select number of courses and require registration.

Nestled on 21 wooded acres, in the heart of the campus, the Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center blends tranquility with the bustling energy of campus life. The Inn is located on the Cook/Douglass campus. The Inn is open to the public AND to Rutgers faculty, staff, and students. Reservations can be made directly on our website. The Inn is open for the entire year, only closing for a week between December and January.

We are pleased to announce a partnership with Uwill, the leading student mental health and wellness solution. Uwill offers students free immediate access to teletherapy through its secure, easy-to-use online platform.

To schedule teletherapy, students can choose a therapist based on their preferences including issue, gender, language, and ethnicity. Students can create a profile and book their first session in just minutes.

University Public Safety responds to several types of non-emergency calls. The most common requests for service are motor vehicle lockouts and jumpstarts.

The Office of Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance offers counseling and advocacy services, educational programming, and training, consultation and policy development services to all members of the University community. Our programs and services are designed to promote ways of coping with the effects of interpersonal violence and to prevent such violence from occurring.
