A 6-week-long residential study abroad program run by the Department of French. This academic program is designed to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture of France in the best possible social and cultural environment.
The French Department offers the following two scholarships for Rutgers students. These are partial scholarships awarded to students on the combined basis of need and merit.
- The Rick Lockwood Memorial Travel Scholarship
- The Albert M. Wolohojian Memorial Travel Scholarship

These temporary conditions may cause unforeseen barriers that can impact your academics and overall Rutgers experience. The fundamental components upon which it is built include annual orientations, certificate programs, and seminar courses.

The department of French actively mentors students through the Teaching Assistantship in France (TAPIF) program application process, including several workshops. Operated by the French government TAPIF offers American students of French the opportunity to spend a year in France, as a paid assistant to an English language teacher in a school. This teaching internship is a unique opportunity for seniors or recent graduates to immerse themselves in the culture of France.
