ScarletPitch is a university-wide competition for Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduates to present innovative ideas that tackle global challenges. Whether it’s a social action project, a startup venture, or another big idea, this platform empowers students to showcase their creativity and make an impact!
Participating teams can win cash prizes and have the opportunity to represent Rutgers at:
- UPitchNJ: A statewide competition held in May. One Rutgers team will be chosen at ScarletPitch to represent Rutgers at UPitchNJ.
- Hult Prize: An international competition with semi-finals in June. One Rutgers team will be selected at ScarletPitch to compete in the Hult Prize semi-finals.
Applications for ScarletPitch open in December each year.
The competition is held annually on the last Friday in February.

The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) prepares students to solve challenging societal problems. Focused on access, academic excellence, and research, SEBS EOF cultivates students' capacity to make adaptive changes in their educational development and overcome historic socioeconomic factors that challenge their potential for success. SEBS EOF provides services that assist students in navigating the complexities of an academic and social climate within a global environment, and help facilitate an understanding of what is required to succeed in college as a science major. We educate researchers, scientists, and health professionals, promoting learning outcomes that produce first-generation college graduates and high-achieving STEM professionals.

Student Orientation is an important introduction to the college experience for all new undergraduate students, regardless of academic affiliation or major. At orientation, students will have the opportunity to become familiar with resources available to you; create and understand resources and tools for course registration; and make connections with current students, faculty, and staff, all before beginning classes.
- First Year students will participate in a two-day, overnight experience.
- Transfer students will participate in an online orientation and an optional in-person experience.

Welcome Week supports the start of students' academic and personal journey. Welcome Week is filled with different activities and events that will focus on providing students opportunities to foster connections, learn about Rutgers culture, and learn to navigate the campus and all its resources. As part of students' first initial days on campus, we have created a variety of activities that will inform, engage, and acclimate students to the RU Scarlet Knight community!

WRSU is one of the oldest college radio stations in the nation. WRSU on-air personalities range from first-semester students to longtime alumni and community members, and all are engaged in the long-standing WRSU tradition of designing their own playlists. WRSU boasts many shows featuring specialty programming, with Sunday devoted primarily to the sounds of world music. The station broadcasts all Rutgers football and basketball games from around the country, and is the flagship radio station of the Rutgers Women's Basketball team. WRSU news broadcasts a variety of news updates and issues talk shows, sending student reporters into the streets for original stories.
