Important Updates to Course Scheduling Terminology

These videos were created in Fall 2020 when all courses were offered remote/online. Registration tools have been updated to reflect the on-campus experience with in-person classes. Some screen shots and references may not consistently match the current Schedule of Classes or other course scheduling systems. The basic structure of the course scheduling systems and the steps to follow have not changed.

 Please Note:

  • Online has replaced all references to remote or remote instruction.
  • Hybrid courses are those with both in-person and online components.
  • Online-Asynchronous courses do not meet at a specific day/time and are labeled as Asynchronous content with the campus location listed as Online.
  • Hours By Arrangement indicates that regularly scheduled meetings will be set by the instructor and class.  Courses with the notation of Hours By Arrangement are NOT Asynchronous.

Check out the Academic Calendar for the dates and deadlines in which courses may be added or dropped, with and without a “W,” and registration periods are held during the semester.

Check out the FAQs for additional information related to course scheduling and registration.
